A service for Chris Gerald "Jerry" Neddenriep, 79, a lifetime Carson Valley resident, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Hilltop Community Church, 3616 N. Sunridge Drive, Carson City. Mr. Neddenriep died June 12, 2005. He was born and raised in Gardnerville and was a member of one of the Carson Valley's original settlement families. Throughout his childhood, he worked in his father's business, Carson Valley Mercantile. Following his graduation from Douglas High School, he entered the Navy ROTC program. He attended Gonzaga University, Whitman College and finished at the University of Nevada Reno. He returned to work at the family mercantile and Case Tractor business. He married Joyce Gilbert in 1950. They purchased the Case Tractor dealership and provided service to Valley ranchers and contractors for more than 20 years. He later became the southern territory sales representative for Case/Western Power & Equipment Co. out of its Reno office. He was active in the Minden Rotary Club, Carson Valley Nut Club, Buckbrush Gun Club and Hi-Rollers RV Club. He was a regular member of the congregation at Hilltop Community Church. He served as past president for the 20-30 Club and the Gardnerville Town Board. He was an active golfer, fisherman and boater. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elva Neddenriep Raycraft. Among his survivors are his wife of 55 years; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Debbie of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law, Norie and Bill Jenkins of Minden; grandchildren Mark, Kristin, Krissie, Chris and Tim; brothers Luke of Gardnerville and Calvin of Fort Worth, Texas; and many extended-family members. Walton's Douglas County Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
