Services for Theodore Vernon Bertelson, 76, of Reno, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1095 Golconda Dr. in Reno. Viewing will be held at 10 a.m.
Mr. Bertelson died June 14, 2005, in Reno. He was born May 6, 1929, on G Street in Sparks.
He was a star athlete at Sparks High School and served in the U.S. Navy.
He began his career with the Nevada Department of Transportation as a surveyor and retired as head of highway construction.
He raised his family in Carson City. He was an avid Giants fan and a golfer.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Joyce; and sisters Virginia and Helen.
Among his survivors are his daughters and sons-in-laws Giselle and Richard Bell of Vacaville, Calif., and Cecily and Michael Rodriguez of Reno; daughter Trina Bertelson and partner Rachel Hepburn of Reno; sister Vendla Stotts; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund.
Ross, Burke & Knobel Mortuary in Reno is in charge of arrangements.
