Identity theft topic of group's meeting
National Active and Retired Federal Employees Chapter 1329 will meet at 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday at Grandma Hattie's for lunch and a business meeting after at 12:15 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Detective Bob Motamenpour of the Carson City Sheriff's Department who will speak on the subject of identity theft.

Save money on band camp sign-ups
The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department and Vivo Band Instrument Repair will sponsor a Band Camp from 8:30 a.m.-noon July 25-29 at the Carson City Community Center.
The camp is for students who have at least one year experience playing an instrument and are entering grades 6-8 in the fall of 2005. Students will participate in concert band, jazz band, small ensembles, group lessons and a theory class. The camp culminates in a concert at noon July 29.
Cost is $75 if students register before June 30 and $85 if registration is after July 1. Call 883-2219 for information and a registration form.
Sign up now for Kids Klub summer camp
The Kids Klub Preschool is offering four weeks of summer camp for children ages 3 through 5 (must be potty-trained and not yet in kindergarten). Session dates are:
June 20-23, June 27-30, Aug. 8-11 and Aug. 15-18
Camp hours are 9-11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. Cost is $35 per week. Registration is ongoing at the recreation office, 851 E. William St. or call 887-2290 ext. 101.
Douglas County
Library program on Minden Airport past
Interested in flying airplanes? The Douglas County Public Library in Minden is presenting "Aviation in the Carson Valley" on Monday.
This family event, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., features the "History of the Minden-Tahoe Airport" as shared by Laurie Hickey. A program by the Reno High Sierra 99s, a female pilots group, will be presented as well as a book talk on "Flyboys" by Senior Library Technician Dan Doyle.
Light refreshments will be served. The Minden Library is located at 1625 Library Lane. For information call the library at 782-9841.
Museum hosts Pony Express/Snowshoe Thompson Day
Pony Express and Snowshoe Thompson Day at the Genoa Courthouse Museum will be from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday.
Daughters of Norway and Don Snowshoe Thompson will tell stories of the famous local hero. Pony Express Riders will be tracked by amateur radio and are scheduled to change mounts at the Genoa Courthouse at 1.30 p.m. on their trip from St. Joseph, Mo., to Sacramento. Free materials and free admission.

Lyon Democrats meeting on Tuesday
