The annual Volleyball Festival will draw 875 volleyball teams and 9,500 female athletes in Reno June 24 through July 1, and this time the athletes need only visit their hotel lobby to find entertainment at their fingertips thanks to the new Adventure Desk program.
The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority partnered with several local hotel properties to launch the Adventure Desk program, which provides visitors details on booking adventure activities and entertainment regionally, and includes everything from golf at one of 46 area golf courses to hiking around Tahoe to whitewater kayaking in the heart of downtown.
Circus Circus Reno, John Ascuaga's Nugget, Silver Legacy Resort and Casino and the Reno Hilton will each have an Adventure Desk.
"The Adventure Desk program was created to allow visitors to individualize their adventure activity during their visit in Reno-Tahoe.
The Volleyball Festival will be the first group to test out the new resource," said Deanna Ashby, executive director of marketing for the RSCVA.
Bernice Epperson, founder of the Volleyball Festival and Festival Sports Inc., said, "We are excited to be the first group to use the Adventure Desk program.
The volleyball players and their families will be able to experience many activities that maybe they weren't aware of last year."
