A Markleeville man was killed early this morning in a fight near Zinfandel Drive and Tillman Lane in the Gardnerville Ranchos.

The slain man was identified as Jeffery Clayton John, 24, by Douglas County Undersheriff Bob Rudnick.

Sheriff Ron Pierini said deputies were called at about 1 a.m. with a report of a body in a yard on Tillman Lane.

Investigation led authorities to the duplex at 1294 Zinfandel Drive.

Pierini said as far as investigators know, all suspects in the incident are in custody.

An autopsy to determine the cause of John's death is scheduled for this morning, according to Rudnick.

Two Gardnerville men, Michael Ward, 21, and Enrique Garcia, 20, are both being held as principals to the murder. A third, Jason Wellington, 21, is being held as an accessory.

Three men were arrested on immigration holds.

Antonio Garcia-Garcia, 25, Cesar Pacheco-Castendia, 21, and Artemio Perez-Solis, 24, are all in Douglas County custody. All six are being held without bail.
