A Mass of Resurrection for Norma Jeanne Annett Costa, 68, a Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. A reception will be held at the church after the Mass from noon-2 p.m.

Mrs. Costa died June 27, 2005, at her home under the care of St. Mary's Hospice.

She was born March 6, 1937, in Reno to Norman T. and Alpha Eugene Day Annett.

She grew up on a sheep ranch in Smith Valley and the family summer resort at Twin Lakes, near Bridgeport, Calif.

She attended Smith Valley schools, spent one year at Dominican High School in San Rafael, Calif., and graduated from Smith Valley High School in 1955. She was active in student activities and president of the senior class. She attended the University of Nevada, where she was affiliated with Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

She married Jim Costa on June 11, 1960, in Yerington.

Mrs. Costa was a homemaker and later worked for the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau in the legal division for 25 years. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed quilting, donating many children's nap quilts to Advocates Against Domestic Violence. One of her quilts hung in the Legislative Building during the 2003 Special Session. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Among her survivors are her husband of 45 years; sons and daughters-in-law Peter and Inge and Paul and Julie; mother; brother and sister-in-law Alfred and Josie Annett, all of Bridgeport; aunt, Dorthella Hill Silva, and cousin Elwood Hill, both of Gardnerville; granddaughter, Carson Costa; brother-in-law and wife Tony and Rose Costa of Winnemucca; sisters-in-law Marie Nannini and Jeanne Renucci, both of Sparks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Smith Valley.
