Burglary suspect may be connected to missing man

A man arrested Tuesday in a December weapons burglary is being questioned in the disappearance of a missing Carson City father.

Robert Nadon, 34, allegedly told someone he "took care of" John Wayne Bragg, a father of four who has been missing since September 2004.

According to an arrest report booking Nadon on charges related to a burglary at his father-in-law's home, Carson City Sheriff's Detective Bob Motamenpour wrote that Nadon is married to Bragg's ex-wife, and Nadon told a friend he saw Bragg walking through Washoe Valley, "got lucky and took care of" him.

The connection to Bragg came to light Tuesday when it was discovered Nadon allegedly sold two rifles to a Carson City businessman for $300. The businessman brought the weapons to the Sheriff's Department, where the victim identified them as two of eight rifles and a safe full of pistols stolen from his home 4100 block of Pheasant Drive.

Motamenpour said an informant told investigators Nadon allegedly tossed the rest of the weapons down an unknown mineshaft and confessed his involvement in Bragg's disappearance.

Bragg, 30, was last seen walking north on Graves Lane on the afternoon of Sept. 23, 2004.

Carson Sheriff's Detective Cate Summers said Bragg had a discussion with his Carson City employer before leaving the business earlier that day. He has not be in contact with his parents, children or friends since.

Nadon's charges in connection with the burglary are suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, felony possession of stolen property, obtaining money under false pretenses and violation of bail conditions. No bail was set.
