Jane Tors

Jane Tors has been named executive director of public relations for the University of Nevada, Reno.

She was previously public relations director for Estipona Vialpando Partners, an advertising and public relations agency in Reno.

Prior to that, she spent 10 years with Washoe Health System and Washoe Medical Center, where she served as communications director.

She also spent nearly 10 years with Harrah's, and served as internal communications manager and publicist for the Reno hotel and casino.

Tors received her degree in journalism from the University of Nevada, Reno, and serves on the advisory board for the university's Reynolds School of Journalism.

She is a board member and former president of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and was named chapter member of the year in 2000.
