Ron Laxton, a registered nurse,will become administrator of the 500-bed Washoe Medical Center and will continue as chief nursing officer.
Laxton joined Washoe Medical Center in 2003 as the chief nursing officer.He previously was associate administrator and chief nurse executive for Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church,Va.
He also has held financial and management positions with Medstar Health System in Washington, D.C., and Scripps Mercy Healthcare System in San Diego.
Laxton holds a master's degree in nursing and health administration from Marymount University in Arlington,Va.
