FERNLEY - Charges listed by the Lyon County Sheriff's Department on March 15 were not brought against a Fernley woman.

Kerri Cruze, who will appear in Fernley Justice Court today, was charged with unlawful use of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Justice Court records. Charges of maintaining a residence for the purpose of the use and sale of a controlled substance, possession of illegal prescription drugs, and a traffic warrant were not filed.

Cruze, 34, said Monday she believes the Lyon County Sheriff's Department released the "wrong" information to humiliate her in front of her neighbors. She admitted a problem with methamphetamine. "I'm trying to stay clean," she said.

According to Lyon County, Cruze is an associate of the Branded Few motorcycle club, a group that has been the focus of an on-going drug investigation by Lyon County narcotics officers.

She admitted knowing members of the Branded Few, but denied there is any drug use in the group. "They are against drugs," she said.
