Douglas County Sheriff's deputies shut down Highway 88 at Waterloo Lane while entering a home where they received word a drug trafficking suspect was hiding.
The highway was closed for about 45 minutes while officers searched the home at the corner for David Gomez, 22, of Gardnerville.
Gomez was not found inside the house, according to Sgt. Tom Mezzetta of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Mezzetta said deputies did find a couple of rifles the resident said weren't hers.
Douglas County Secret Witness is offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of Gomez, who is wanted for alleged trafficking of methamphetamine.
Mezzetta said Gomez is the suspected supplier of Marshall Wright, in jail on $100,000 bail on five counts of trafficking in a controlled substance.
Gomez is a Hispanic male adult, 5 feet, 6 inches tall with green eyes, black hair and a possible mustache.
His last known address was in the 400 block of Apache Court in the Bodie Flats area of Gardnerville.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at 782-9911 or Secret Witness at 782-7463.
