Saint Mary's and Northern Nevada Medical Center last week won renewal of their contract to provide hospital care to the 6,320 people covered by the health plan of the Washoe County government.
Washoe Health Systems' Hometown Health Plan, however, won a contract to provide the HMO services used by about 42 percent of the county's employees.
The contracts take effect July 1.
Other bidders for the HMO contract were Saint Mary's Healthfirst and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
The county's total cost for the health-care plan $29.8 million will be up about 11 percent from the current fiscal year.
