According to a recent press releases, on Saturday, May 7th, Sportsman's Warehouse in Reno will host the 2005 Nevada State Duck and Goose Calling Contests.
Sportsman's Warehouse is teaming up with Avery Outdoors, Greenhead Gear, Zink Calls, Rich and Tone Calls, and Dynamic Decoys to sponsor the event.
The event will crown Nevada State Champions in the Junior and Senior Duck and Goose Calling Divisions.
In the Junior Duck and Goose divisions, three time Nevada State Duck and Goose calling champion, Will Morgan will defend his title against some of the top junior callers from around the state including Katie Stanley, one of the top junior female waterfowl callers in the country. I
In 2003, Stanley won the Junior Women's World Duck Calling Championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas and is looking to give Morgan a run for his money.
In the Senior State contests, some of the top talents from the western United States are scheduled to compete.
2004 Nevada State Duck Champion, John David Stanley will be defending his title.
In 2004, Stanley placed in the top fifteen at the World's Duck Calling Championship and is one of the top goose callers in the west.
He will be challenged by 2003 Nevada State Duck champion, Chad Belding.
Belding has competed in Stuttgart twice and he is looking to return with a victory at the Nevada State Championship.
Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top four finishers in all of the contests.
There will be seminars beginning at 11:30 in the morning that will be educational for beginning water fowlers as well as seasoned hunters.
The day will be capped off with raffle prizes for all in attendance.
