Coalition seeking volunteers

The Carson Area Coalition on Obesity is seeking volunteers to promote healthy lifestyles.

The coalition was formed in response to a State of Nevada Health Division request for local stakeholder input on the issue of obesity facilitated by the Nevada Public Health Foundation.

"We are so excited about the coalition developing in response to our help to create a state obesity plan," said Rota Rosaschi, coalition chairwoman and Nevada Public Health Foundation Executive Director.

The coalition committees are nutrition, physical activity, gardening, youth, fund raising, media and chronic disease.

A Web site for the coalition will be online soon. The next meeting is 7:30-9 a.m. June 7 at the Great Basin Primary Care Association agency located at 515 W. Fourth Street, Carson City, Nevada.
