A Douglas County man has been sentenced to nine months in jail after admitting to insurance fraud charges.
Nathanial Partlow, 24, told Sentry Dairyland Insurance Co. that he didn't receive a settlement check to which he was entitled after an accident. The company issued another check with instructions to destroy the first check if it arrived, but Partlow cashed both checks.
He was also ordered to pay $2,300 in restitution and investigative costs.
Prosecutors said they asked for jail time instead of probation because Partlow failed to show for his first sentencing date.
