Research group moving to Reno

Synergy Research Group, a research firm that studies networking and telecom markets, is moving its headquarters to Reno from Scottsdale,Ariz.

The company's office will be at 10471 Double R Blvd.

It will employ about 10.

It has hired two in northern Nevada and some will relocate from Arizona.

Synergy Research customers include companies such as Cisco,Avaya, and Nortel as well as Wall Street including Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley.

Jeremy Duke, president and chief executive officer, said the company was drawn to Reno by its proximity to Silicon Valley, the availability of skilled workers and the region's advanced telecommunications infrastructure.
