Joanie Swanson, 65, a Carson City resident for the past 13 years, died Nov. 20, 2005, in Carson City. She was born Dec. 20, 1939, in Boston, Mass., to Frank and Marie Russell.
She married Charles R. Swanson on Nov. 7, 1959, in Monrovia, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, she lived in Southern California.
Mrs. Swanson was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, cooking, spending time with her family and playing nickel slots. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Among her survivors are her husband; daughters Debra L. Swanson and Shelley M. Green, both of Temecula, Calif.; mother of Monrovia; brothers Charles Russell of Duarte, Calif., Dennis Russell of Covina, Calif., and Wayne Russell of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be in Southern California at a later date.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
