A collision near Cave Rock injured four people while those involved in a single-vehicle rollover on Spooner escaped injury Friday as winter weather began to roll into the area.
A Carson City woman was cited for misdemeanor failure to show due care and no valid driver's license following a one-car rollover accident Friday morning on Highway 50 near Spooner Summit.
The accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. Friday on Highway 50 when a vehicle traveling west lost control, hit a curb and overturned before catching fire, according to Nevada Highway Patrol Sergeant Mark Clark.
"The pavement was wet and she just lost control and hit the curb," said Clark.
The vehicle's driver, Eva Estrada, 31, and the front passenger Karina Garcia, 24, were not injured in the accident.
About 4:45 p.m. on Highway 50 near Cave Rock an eastbound SUV driven by Kia Hanna, 20, of South Lake Tahoe, spun out of control into the path of a pickup driven by Terri Reynolds, 44, of Quincy, Calif.
The drivers, as well as two passengers in the pickup, Anna Martha, 65, in the front seat, and William Reynolds, 53, who had to be extricated from the back seat, were all transported to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe with lacerations and fractures.
Reynolds was later transferred to Washoe Medical Center with head injuries.
Alcohol or drugs and the weather may have contributed to the Cave Rock accident, which is under investigation.
