A memorial service for Donna Bergevin Steele, 69, will be Thursday at the Perth Crematorium in Perth, Scotland.
Mrs. Steele died Oct. 22, 2005, in Dundee, Scotland, following complications from surgery.
She was born April 17, 1936, in Carson City to Theodore and Lenore Olds Bergevin.
She was raised in the Carson Valley and graduated from Douglas High School.
Mrs. Steele worked for the State of Nevada for many years and retired from Allied Domeque in Scotland as a computer manager.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer with the service organization The Samaritans of Scotland.
She served as secretary for the Dunkeld-Birnam Angling Club, one of the largest angling clubs in Scotland. She enjoyed working in her garden, reading, her family and her dog, Andy.
Among her survivors are her husband, Archie Steele, of Dunkeld; sons Rocky Whitford of California and Athol Steele of Scotland; daughters Wendy Whitford of Reno and Linda Winton and Helen Hill of Scotland; mother of Gardnerville; sisters Marcia Bergevin Bernard and Linda Bergevin Curtis of Carson City; grandchildren Nathan Whitford, Megan Whitford and Emily Whitford of California and Martin Winton, Megan Winton, Jasmine Hill and David Hill of Scotland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
