Crime log

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• A 44-year-old heavy-equipment operator from Carson City was arrested at 10:21 a.m. Sunday at State Street and Highway 50 East on suspicion of misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence. Bail was set at $1,000.

• A 25-year-old mortgage broker from Dayton was arrested at 7:45 p.m. Sunday in the 3200 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to appear. Bail was set at $242.

• Mike Sample, 44, a construction worker from Carson City, was arrested at 5:44 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of East William Street on suspicion of felony trafficking and obstructing a peace officer. Bail was set at $60,000.

n Deputies responded to the following calls:

• Three men were seen trying to break into a vehicle in the 100 block of Koontz Lane at 3:20 a.m. Saturday.

• Jewelry and money were stolen from a home in the 900 block of Woodside Drive sometime Saturday.

• A man was found dead in a motel room bathroom in the 2100 block of Highway 50 East at 6:21 p.m. Saturday.

Lyon County

n Deputies responded to the following calls Sunday:

• A drunken driving arrest at 2:23 a.m.

• Battery at 12:33 p.m. in the 2500 block of Tonopah Street in Fernley.

• Fire in the 8500 block of Cheyenne Trail in Stagecoach at 10:25 a.m.

• Fire on Raven Way in Fernley at 3:54 p.m.

• Fight on Rio Vista Drive in Mason Valley at 3:56 p.m.

Storey County

n Deputies responded to the following calls:

• A deer was struck by a vehicle on Highway 341 between the summit and the microwave station at 8:01 p.m.
