The 550,000-square-foot industrial building planned by Trammell Crow Co. at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center appears to be the largest speculative project ever proposed in the region.

Grading for the building is scheduled to begin next month, and Trammell Crow said it expects completion by late 2006.

The company also plans a 375,000-square-foot speculative building on the 47 acres it purchased in the industrial center east of Sparks on Interstate 80.

The timing of that building will be determined by leasing activity in the area, Trammell Crow said.

Both buildings are along USA Parkway, the four-lane expressway cutting across the industrial center between I-80 and U.S. 50.

The 104,000 acres of the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center create the largest industrial park in the country.

"With all the amenities and infrastructure in place we call it the Disneyland of all developments." Par Tolles, area director for Trammell Crow in Reno.
