Itronics Inc.
lost $932,018 on revenues of $243,396 in the quarter ended Sept.
30.
In the same period a year earlier, the Reno-based recycler of photochemicals reported a loss of $769,956 on revenues of $289,734.
The company said sales of fertilizer it makes from used photochemicals were off because of a late spring season in California.
But it said sales appear to be rebounding.
Its sales of silver another material recovered from the photo wastes rose to $65,089 in the quarter compared with $17,285 a year earlier.
Itronics said last week expanded its capacity to produce silver.
With a new concentrator and filtration system, the company can produce about 60,000 ounces of silver a year, up from the previous production level of 20,000 ounces a year.
The expansion cost about $120,000, said Dr.
John Whitney, president of the publicly held company.
