Airport traffic down for month, up for year

Passenger traffic through Reno/Tahoe International Airport during December was down 0.8 percent from the same month a year ago.

For the year, passenger traffic was up 1.5 percent.

Flights through Reno were 76.24 full during the year, up from 74.6 percent a year earlier.

Southwest had the biggest market share a bit more than 50 percent followed by United at 10.3 percent, the RenoTahoe Airport Authority reported last week.

Cargo shipments through the airport were up 3.13 percent during December compared with a year ago, and up 4.38 percent for the year.
