An integrated marketing communications team from the University of Nevada, Reno, won the "World Series of Advertising" regional competition in San Francisco.
The team now advances to the American Advertising Federation's National Student Advertising Competition in San Francisco in June. The team will compete against the 16 other regional winners.
The students edged out teams from other institutions, including University of California, Berkeley; California State University, San Francisco; and San Jose State University.
The UNR team put together a 32-page integrated marketing and communications plan for its client, Postal Vault Systems, a locking mailbox company.
The team also prepared an extensive 20-minute presentation on its plan to present to five judges all advertising and marketing professionals.
