South Tahoe Realty has merged into Chase International.
Formerly affiliated with Century 21, South Tahoe Realty will now be called Chase International South Tahoe Realty.
Broker Doug Rosner, who has operated the office on Lake Tahoe Boulevard since 1983, will remain, along with the 20 agents based at the office.
Terms of the merger weren't disclosed.
The transaction completes a ring around Lake Tahoe for Chase, which now operates offices in Zephyr Cove, Glenbrook, Incline Village, and Tahoe City. Other offices are located at Reno, Truckee and London.
"When it comes to locations, a company is only as good as its ability to serve the market," says Shari Chase, president and chief executive officer of Chase International, a residential real estate company based at Zephyr Cove. "The South Tahoe office helps us in the midrange market at Lake Tahoe."
The majority of buyers at the lake come from northern California, she says. "They may have spent time in the area as a child, and that's where their heartstrings are attached."
People shop Tahoe for different reasons, Chase adds. Those wanting vacation homes for tax advantages pick the Nevada side. The family cabin folks look on the California side. Those with new wealth want to look around the area.
A total of 110 agents work in the Chase International offices.
