A-1 Transport, a trucking company in Sparks, has acquired three acres at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center and plans to move its operation.

Marty Hodge, owner of the trucking company, said the move will bring the company closer to the plant of James Hardie Building Products, one of its largest clients.

A-1 plans to begin construction in about a year on an 8,000-square-foot building that will include a 2,100-square-foot office as well as service facilities. The company runs five trucks and has contracts with 65 independents, Hodge said.

L. Lance Gilman Commercial Real Estate Services, the company developing the industrial center, handled the land purchase.
