James L. Smith

James L. Smith has been appointed as vice president of finance and controller at Renown Health.

Smith, a certified public accountant, has worked for 25 years as chief financial officer for healthcare organizations, including Children's Hospital of San Francisco, McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., and the Southern Mono Healthcare District in Mammoth Lakes, Calif.

After he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley, he worked in public accounting with Arthur Young & Co. in San Francisco.
