"We'll Fly Ya to the Playa" is a new advertising slogan promoted by Advantage Flight Solutions LLC, a Reno-based charter air company that begins its third year of piloting participants in Burning Man to the Black Rock Desert.
Advantage Flight recently teamed with charter air specialist Rebecca Aguilar to create other niche flight options, including weddings and dinners in the sky.
And the company even sees demand for alcohol-themed air-pampering flights such as "Martinis and a Manicure."
Aguilar says the idea for specialized flights came from existing Las Vegas-area operators. "I knew sooner or later someone would do it in Reno, so I wanted to be the first."
Wedding flights start at $2,200 and include a minister and photographer. Aguilar says the flight takes the bride and groom over Lake Tahoe, swinging low so the couple can exchange vows over the water. Prices rise with perks such as red carpet and limo service.
Dinner flights range from a picnic with checkered tablecloth to an upscale dinner with concierge service. Aguilar says she is working with Executive Limousine to provide ground transportation. "My goal is to make Advantage Flight a household name in Reno. If it can be done in the sky, we can do it."
Additionally, Advantage Flight offers golf packages to Palm Springs and Monterrey, Calif., and Coos Bay, Ore. This fall Aguilar will add flights to San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders games, which she expects will generate the most interest.
"If six guys want to go to a football game, they can party in the plane, and they have ground transportation take them there and back. There are no worries," she says.
Aguilar says because of the softer economy not as many people are purchasing private charter flights. To increase awareness of the new flight options Advantage Flight will post a dedicated Web page and use traditional media outlets. Aguilar is also reaching out to wedding planners to heighten their awareness of the new programs.
