Philip Malinas, M.D., and Jason Walenta, M.D., have joined the staff of Willow Springs Center, a residential treatment center for children and adolescents in Reno.
Malinas was named chief medical officer. He previously worked in private practice in Woodland Hills, Calif.
He earned a bachelor's degree in biology and mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis and earned his medical degree at Wright State University in Ohio. He completed post-graduate training at the UCLA San Fernando Valley psychiatry training program and at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Walenta was named medical director of the outpatient program.
He earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry at the University of Texas in Austin and earned his medical degree as well as a degree as a medical scientist at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Walenta completed his residency at the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and his child and adolescent psychiatry residency at the University of Utah Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake City.
