Microsoft last week shipped computers outfitted with the new Vista operating system. Vista was five years in development, and Reno-based PC Doctor worked the last two years ensuring that its product was Vista-ready.
PC Doctor, a software firm that employs 70, sells a diagnostic tool to computer manufacturers.
"We've been working with long-time customers like Hewlett Packard to make sure they have Vista-ready system health tools available from day one," said Doug van Aman, the company's chief marketing officer.
"Based on comments and inquiries from others in the industry, it appears we are the first with commercially available, Vista-ready solutions for assuring quality in manufacturing, end-user support and PC repair."
PC Doctor solutions include diagnostics that test the CPU, memory, motherboard, hard drive, CD-ROM and DVD drives, video and audio, keyboard and mouse, and other key components.
The company was founded in 1993 and relocated to Reno in 2003.
