Major renovation planned at Red Lion in Elko

The Navegante Group, owner of the Red Lion Hotel and Casino at Elko, will undertake a multi-million dollar renovation of the property.

Red Lion Hotels Corp. of Spokane said last week it signed a new long-term franchise agreement for the property with Navegante. As part of that agreement, Navegante Group will upgrade the Red Lion to meet new standards for the brand.

The hotel includes 223 rooms, two restaurants and a night club in addition to its casino.

The Navegante Group, based at Las Vegas, also manages casino operations at Grand Sierra Resort in Reno and Casino Fandango at Carson City.
