Fred Holabird, a veteran marathoner, has been named race director of the Nevada Wide Open Marathon de Mayo planned in Reno May 6.
He also will continue working as president of Holabird-Kagin Americana, a division of Kagin's Inc. that focuses on American numismatics and currency. Holabird previously worked as a minerals exploration geologist.
