Linda McKnight, a registered nurse in the newborn intensive care unit at Renown Regional Medical Center, was named the recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The national award, given by the DAISY Foundation, recognizes nurses who provide exceptional care.
McKnight was nominated by a patient's mother who cited McKnight's great care and compassion. McKnight graduated from the University of Hawaii with an associate's degree in nursing in 1981 and earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2000.
