Douglas R. Kurkul has been named chief executive officer of the Reno Sparks Chamber of Commerce.
Kurkul, who begins work August 1, currently is vice president of member communications and marketing services for the Washington, D.C.-based National Association of Manufacturers. He joined the association in 1986 and has held several leadership positions.
Before joining the National Association of Manufacturers, he worked as an analyst in the Office of the U.S. Secretary of Energy and was a Presidential Management Fellow with the Small Business Administration.
He earned a master's degree in public administration from American University, and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and political science from Ashland University.
