The Nevada Attorney General's office said last week it's searching for northern Nevada investors who may have been victimized by Venture Capital Investment Inc., owned by Ric Reyes of Las Vegas.
Investigators from the attorney general's office have executed a search warrant at the company's office.
Supporting documents for the warrant alleged that three people who contracted to buy land in northern Nevada were referred to VCI Inc. When they applied for loans, the warrant alleges, Reyes told the consumers they were required to put down a 20 percent deposit money which wasn't received by the seller or placed in escrow accounts.
Reyes and VCI also aren't registered as mortgage brokers, the attorney general's office said.
