The Nevada Chapter of Associated General Contractors will recognize top local construction projects with its ninth annual Pinnacle Awards ceremony this week.
The awards ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. at Harrah's convention center.
Projects compete in these categories:
* Excellence in project management
* Meeting the challenge of a difficult job
* Contractor's innovation
* Sensitivity to environment, history and culture
* Excellence in client service
General contractors vie for the Pinnacle Award in two divisions: under and over $5 million. Specialty contractors vie for the Pinnacle in the over $500,000 and under $500,000 category.
The awards program was established in 1999 by the Reno-based chapter AGC to honor the "Best of the Best" in northern Nevada construction projects. The AGC includes about 300 member firms that account for half of the construction jobs undertaken in Washoe County.
