Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network partnered with coolpeoplecare.org, a philanthropic Web site that reminds members to make a difference in five minutes or less via daily email reminder.
The network also plans to send monthly reports on committee work to its membership base of 300, says Janet Buckley, member of the leadership committee.
Community service is a prime component of the network, she adds. The group chooses one charity each year. This year the group encouraged members to turn out for a benefit concert in Wingfield Park that solicits donations for the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. Next year, she says, it may be the American Red Cross.
