The business-plan competition among Nevada's collegians goes to a new level next spring as they square off against teams from two other states.
The first- and second-place winners in the undergraduate and graduate divisions of the Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup Business Plan Competition will face winners from Arkansas and Oklahoma in a second round.
Winning teams will split $200,000 in cash prizes at the state level, with an additional $90,000 in cash awarded at the tri-state competition.
The Nevada round is scheduled for late April. The tri-state contest will be in mid-May.
Last year, 44 teams from Nevada colleges and universities entered the contest that is overseen by the Nevada Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology. The Las Vegas-based Donald W. Reynolds Foundation provides ongoing funding.
