The collegiate business-plan teams that won the Donald W. Reynolds Governor's Cup competition in Nevada last spring now will get a chance to pitch their plans to well-heeled venture capitalists.
The teams from the University of Nevada, Reno, and Sierra Nevada College will make presentations during the seventh annual Silver and Gold Conference in Reno Oct. 22-23. The event is sponsored by Nevada's Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, Golden Capital Network and the Sierra Angels.
The collegiate teams will join the ranks of about 30 companies from throughout Nevada and northern California that hope to win the attention of investors at the conference. More than 40 venture capitalists and angel investors are expected to attend.
Along with presentations by companies, the conference features leading seed and early-stage venture capital, corporate, and angel investors as panelists and speakers. Investor speakers will market their funds, share industry expertise with entrepreneurs and other investors and review deals.
Companies that want to be featured at the conference must submit an executive summary of no more than three pages via e-mail to entrepreneur@goldencapital.net.
