David and Laura Finley bought their first Napa Auto Parts store in Sparks in 1986 and now own additional stores in Reno, Fernley and Fallon.

In recent days, the couple purchased 70,000 square feet of warehouse space in Sparks to consolidate Napa's brisk wholesale parts distribution business, currently served from locations on Glendale Avenue and Wrondel Way.

The Finleys will vacate the 17,000 square foot wholesale-only store on Wrondel Way and in 2009 begin remodeling the Glendale location to make it more retail-friendly, David Finley says. The couple also is considering opening Napa Auto Parts stores in other locations.

Finley says a central shop can better manage the wholesale division and serve the four other Napa retail locations as wells.

"We keep running out of room," says Finley. "This will also consolidate our phone rooms. We have couple of more ideas, but we have to recover from this first."

The Finley's purchased the warehouse at 202 S. 18th St. from NBS-Reno Industrial OPCO, LLC.

Gary Baker of The Baker Company represented the buyer, and Michelle Molnar of Ticor Title of Nevada provided title and escrow services. Baker says Seattle-based NBS-Reno Industrial OPCO has purchased several older properties and systematically re-sold them in the past few years.
