Sierra Pacific Power Co. said in February it was thinking about selling its electric distribution system around Lake Tahoe.
The company since then has changed its name to NV Energy, but it's still studying the possibility of selling the system with its 46,000 customers.
" The company has talked to various parties interested in acquiring the California service area, and state utility regulators in California and Nevada are aware of the company's plans," an NV Energy spokesman says.
But so far, there's nothing definitive to announce.
