The Nevada Association of Employers and the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association will co-sponsor a workshop this month for employers on I-9s and immigration.
Topics will include best practices for I-9 compliance, how to prepare for a visit by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials and how to respond to a raid or investigation. A review of acceptable of documents will also be conducted.
The event will be at the Grand Sierra Resort on Jan. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Presenters will include Jacqueline Longnecker, president of Employment Verification Resources Inc.; Gregory White, resident agent in charge in Reno for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; Bonnie Gibson, office managing shareholder for the law firm of Littler Mendelson P.C.; and Michael Rank, an attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Special Counsel.
