Alimex Precision in Aluminum Inc. plans to launch a manufacturing operation in Douglas County.

Initial employment at the facility will be five workers, with an average pay of $28.90 an hour, the company said last week as it applied to the Nevada Commission on Economic Developments for tax abatements.

Alimex, a German-based company, manufacturers semi-finished aluminum products for the aircraft industry and other applications.

Jeffrey Albee, the company's president and chief executive officer, said Alimex has signed a five-year lease on property at 2554 Business Parkway in Minden.

The company told the economic development commission that it expects to invest about $755,000 in equipment at the facility.

Albee said the company hopes to expand its Nevada operations during the next five to 10 years.
