Nevada Web site wins award

Nevada Magazine's Web site, Nevada Magazine.com, earned a Grand Award in the APEX Awards for Publication Excellence. The site was redesigned last year by Noble Studios of Carson City and the magazine's staff.

Minority affairs Web site

The Nevada Commission on Minority Affairs has created a website that lists meeting dates, agendas, and minutes. It's part of the Web site of the Ombudsman for Consumer Affairs for Minorities. The address is fyiconsumer.org/CMA_aboutus.htm

PC-Doctor releases platform

PC-Doctor Inc. introduced PC-Doctor 6 architecture, the latest platform for advanced PC health diagnosis and management. The new architecture delivers automated solutions, and other features to help PC users solve problems.

Catering Co. lands contracts

At Your Service Hospitality Staffing LTD has been awarded the staffing contract for catering services at the Reno Tahoe Open, which begins this week at Montreux Golf and Country Club.

United lands school work

United Construction Company started work on South Meadows Middle School at Wilbur May Parkway. The $37 million project is United's eighth project for the Washoe County School District and will serve as the prototype for future middle schools in the county.

TRIC convenience mart

A service station and mini mart is slated to open in August at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. It hosts 12 pumps, and a Port of Subs. The developer is Golden Gate Petroleum.

Streamline wins contract

Streamline Consulting Associates LLC of Carson City will provide project management workshops to Nichols Consulting Engineers, a civil and environmental engineering firm with offices in Reno, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento and Point Richmond, Calif. Streamline Consulting Associates is headed by Eileen Webb.

Home Treasures second store

Home Treasures, a gift and wine shop, will open a location inside the Carson Valley Inn in Minden in August.

The location is the second for the company, which was launched in Carson Valley Plaza in 2003 by owners Susie Messina and Dawn Henderson.

State reaps solar savings

Solar panels installed on the roof of Legislative Counsel Bureau's printing office and warehouse in Carson City will generate about 30 kilowatts of electricity and are expected to reduce the Bureau's annual electric bill by about $7,200, or $144,000 over the next 20 years.

Vidler easements approved

Washoe County Board of Commissioners approved easements and infrastructure from Vidler Water Company, the managing partner of Fish Springs Ranch, LLC.

The agreement finalizes the ability to deliver 8,000 acre feet of water nearly 38 miles to the North Valleys.
