Michael Dayton

Michael Dayton re-joined the McDonald Carano Wilson Government Affairs Group LLC as vice president of government affairs. He formerly conducted government advocacy work for the firm.

Dayton spent nearly 20 years in the government sector at the local, state and federal levels. He served as the governor's chief of staff for 18 months and as chief policy adviser to former Lieutenant Governor Lorraine Hunt.

He also worked for more than five years on Capitol Hill as chief of staff to Gibbons, then a congressman.

Mason Douglas

Mason Douglas was named president of Silver Reserve Corp., an exploration stage mining company in Reno.

Douglas sits on the board of directors at Silver Reserve Corp. He has eight years of experience in the mining industry as a consultant, executive and director for a variety of private and public companies.

Todd Montgomery, current president and chief executive officer, will continue in his role as chief executive officer.

Kris Gaw

Kris Gaw was named chief operating officer of Renown Regional Medical Center.

She was previously vice president of human resources.

During her 21 years with the hospital, Gaw had worked in the emergency room and in the business office, Hometown Health and human resources.

Todd Blonsley

Todd Blonsley has been promoted to vice president of investments at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Services Company in Reno.

He previously was a senior investment associate with the commercial real estate brokerage.

Nicole Shearer

Nicole Shearer was named public relations business partner at Renown Health.

She was formerly communications business partner at Renown.

Shearer previously was an account supervisor for Switchback PR + Marketing, Inc., in Truckee.

She had worked as communications supervisor for Northstar-at-Tahoe and Sierra-at-Tahoe resorts. Shearer also worked as account executive for Pettit Gilwee Public Relations in Tahoe City.

She attended University of Nevada, Reno.

Brian Kernan

Brian Kernan was promoted to project director at Q&D Construction. He will oversee all work at RED Development's Legends at Sparks Marina.

Kernan joined Q&D Construction in 1994 as a project manager and guided construction of the Bishop Manogue Catholic High School campus, Summit Sierra Lifestyle Center and numerous improvements at Saint Mary's Health Network.

He has 27 years in the construction industry. Kernan holds construction management and construction estimating certificates from San Jose State University.

Tom Wambaugh

Tom Wambaugh was named vice president of member services at Greater Nevada Credit Union. He will manage GNCU's Member Services team

He previously worked 13 years at Bank of America.

Joe Serpa

Joe M. Serpa was hired as director of operations at Aspen Developers Corp., with offices in Reno and Truckee.

He has 30 years of general engineering experience and has managed projects such as the US395/Clearacre Interchange, The Resort at Squaw Creek, and Somersett.

Erich Schmitt

Erich Schmitt joined Kaizen Consulting Services as a success partner.

He previously worked for The Ray Morgan Company and Applied Staffing Solutions, Inc.

Schmitt served as a diplomat for the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce since 2000 and is a graduate of the Leadership Reno-Sparks program.

Casey Stone

Casey Stone was named manager of D & D Roofing and Sheet Metal's office in Susan-ville, Calif. The Susanville office will operate as Dillon Roofing.

Stone has 12 years experience in the roofing and construction industry.

He formerly owned a roofing and remodeling company in Seattle, Wash.

Rajan Zed

Rajan Zed was named Director of Public Affairs and Interfaith Relations by Nevada Clergy Association.

He is president of Universal Society of Hinduism and spiritual advisor to National Association of Interchurch and Interfaith Families.

Kymberlee Simantel

Kymberlee Simantel, the executive managing director for eWomenNetwork in Reno/Carson/Tahoe, was recognized as Managing Director of the Year by the eWomenNetwork international organization.

About 500,000 members belong to the group's 113 chapters.

Cindy Carano

Cindy L. Carano was appointed to the Nevada tourism board. She is executive director of hotel operations at the Eldorado.

Carano has more than 20 years experience in hotel and resort management and worked at Hyatt Regency San Francisco.

She is a graduate of University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Tobin Basta

Q&D Construction Project Manager Tobin Basta has earned the LEED Accredited Professional designation from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Basta is a project leader on the Legends at Sparks Marina development. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from University of Colorado and a master's degree in in civil engineering from University of California at Berkeley.

J.P. Pilkinton

J.P. Pilkinton of Coldwell Banker Itildo, Inc. in Minden was named Realtor of the Month by Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors for June.

He has been licensed in Nevada since 1992.

Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors includes Douglas, Churchill and Lyon counties plus Carson City.

Michael Norton

Michael Norton, executive chef at the Eldorado Hotel and Casino, was among

recipients of the President's Medallion during the annual convention of the American Culinary Federation. The honor recognizes those who make significant contributions to the federation.
