DBSI, a nationwide real estate investment company headquartered in Meridian, Idaho, recently purchased 20 acres of undeveloped land in the Foothills at Wingfield Springs.

DBSI says the land is well positioned for price appreciation because it is the last undeveloped parcel in the area, and utility infrastructure has already been brought up to the land, which borders Red Hawk Golf Course.

DBSI says it has no immediate plans for the land and will ride out the current housing slump.

"We are continually seeking opportunities. Land is one of those investments," says Matt Shifley, DBSI's online marketing manager.

"We see the Reno-Sparks metropolitan area as a high-growth region, and this land is in that path of growth, so we will sit on the land for a period of time and hopefully provide a great real estate investment opportunity."

The Foothills at Wingfield Springs is a master-planned community expected to consist of 15 phases with 2,280 homes at completion.

Homebuilders already in the area include Reynen & Bardis Com
