Waste-bill audit firm opens

Sierra Waste Advisers, a firm that audits the solid waste disposal bills of businesses in search of discrepancies, has opened an office in Reno. A and H Insurance recognized

A and H Insurance, Inc. of Reno has been selected by Goldline Research as one of the Most Dependable Insurance Professionals of the Western United States for 2008, and will be recognized in Forbes Magazine. The award encompasses A and H offices in Reno, Las Vegas and Henderson.

Ionic Water moves

Ionic Water Technologies Inc., a company specializing in the science of treating metal-impacted water and acid mine drainage, has moved its assembly shop and lab to 405 Western Road and its administrative office to 9468 Double R Blvd., Suite A.

The company also has launched a new Web site, www.iwtechnologies.com. The Web site was created by Westward Strategy & Design Group of Sparks.

CSI wins technology award

Computerized Screening Inc. of Reno won the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Award for Technology Leadership.

The company manufactures kiosks that deliver health-care information and monitoring services at public locations that are remote from physicians' offices or health-care facilities.

GBIS launches DSL product

Great Basin Internet Services Inc. of Reno has launched a higher-speed DSL product that bonds two DSL lines to maximize the download and upload direction paths.

The company will market the service as a cost-effective way to bring higher bandwidth to businesses and other customers.

Basalite finishes safety effort

Basalite Concrete Products' manufacturing and distribution center in Carson City has completed the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program overseen by the safety consultation and training section of the state's Division of Industrial Relations.

Completion of the program provides the company with a two-year exemption from OSHA's general schedule inspections.

Basalite is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Coast Building Products of Sacramento.

El Capitan ends agreement

El Capitan Precious Metals, Inc. of Reno said it terminated a consulting agreement with Charles Mottley, its former chairman, president and chief executive officer.

The company will pay Mottley $267,500 worth of its common shares and other assets it valued at $6,000 to wrap up its consulting agreement.

Mottley was chairman of the board of El Capitan until he resigned last September.
