Terry Copeland has been named president and chief executive officer of Reno's Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. Copeland previously held the title on an interim basis after the resignation of Alan Gotcher this spring.
Copeland joined Altair last November as vice president of operations in its power and energy group. Before joining Altair, he operated an engineering and technology consulting firm, served as vice president of Millennium Cell Inc., and held management positions with Duracell and DuPont.
He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware and a doctorate in chemical engineering with a minor in law from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
