A one-day seminar for entrepereneurs that covers subjects ranging from marketing to cash-flow analysis to sources of funding is scheduled in Reno April 19.
The small business fundamentals seminar sponsored by SCORE a group of retired executives who counsel small businesses is expected to draw about 50 owners of small and start-up businesses.
Speakers will include:
* Dick Hughs, chair of the Reno chapter of SCORE and former business dean at the University of Nevada, Reno, on the realities of starting a business.
* Emilio Parga, president of The Solace Tree, a support system for grieving children and teens, on his personal experiences in starting a business.
* Chris Riche, founder of Percess Technol-ogies Inc., on marketing and advertising.
* Ray Lee, a SCORE counselor who has 34 years of corporate finance and accounting experience on financial planning and cash flow.
* Bonnie Drinkwater, an attorney in Reno, on types of business entities, liability and taxation.
* Rod Jorgensen, director of the Nevada Small Business Development Center, on the availability of money for small businesses.
The seminar, SCORE volunteers said, is intended to delve more deeply into topics that are covered quickly during the group's short orientation workshops for potential owners of small businesses.
