Altair Nanotechnologies Inc. of Reno said last week it received a $100,000 federal Small Business Innovation Research grant to help it develop energy-storage technologies for the U.S. Navy.
The company said the grant will support development of new battery cell chemistries that can perform under extremely hot conditions up to 149 degrees Fahrenheit without loss of performance.
